THE CHALLENGE
The Houston Museum of Natural Science’s Energy City exhibit is a massive projection mapping installation that captivates over 1.5 million visitors each year.
The exhibit uses 32 laser projectors to map content onto 15,000 individual objects, operating more than 65 hours per week. After eight years of continuous operation, the networking backbone that powered this mission-critical experience required a full refresh.
Reliability was non-negotiable: the system had to run flawlessly for another decade with minimal upkeep, ensuring no disruption to the visitor experience.
